- How it Works
NeuroRub™ 10% gabapentin topical cream is a prescription-strength, compounded medication used to help relieve localized nerve-related pain. It is commonly used when pain originates from irritated, hypersensitive, or damaged nerves.
NeuroRub™ may be prescribed for conditions such as:
- Peripheral neuropathy
- Post-surgical nerve pain
- Localized neuropathic pain (burning, tingling, shooting pain)
- Nerve irritation related to injury or overuse
- Focal nerve pain where oral therapy is not desired
Because NeuroRub™ is applied directly to the affected area, it targets pain locally rather than throughout the entire body.

RX Only medications can only be ordered by healthcare providers when it is determined the product is clinically significant over other available products

Gabapentin is a neuromodulator that decreases the release of excitatory neurotransmitters involved in pain signaling.
When formulated as a topical cream, gabapentin:
- Acts locally at peripheral nerve endings
- Reduces ectopic and hypersensitized nerve firing
- Decreases abnormal sensory signal transmission before signals reach the central nervous system
This localized mechanism allows for targeted neuromodulation while minimizing systemic exposure commonly associated with oral gabapentin therapy.
